Podcast Artwork (Cover Image)

The cover image appears in the feed and is the main image in podcast apps.

Podcast and episode covers

Upload the podcast cover under Podcast > General. For a separate episode cover, open Episode > General.

Podcast apps can show episode covers differently. If you do not supply an episode cover, Apple Podcasts uses the podcast cover.

Apple Podcasts requirements

For covers in an RSS feed, Apple accepts square images from 1400 × 1400 to 3000 × 3000 pixels. Apple prefers the largest size.

  • Format: JPG or PNG.
  • No transparency or alpha channel.

See Apple's current requirements for show covers and episode covers. Those pages do not give a general requirement of 72 dpi or 512 kB.

Upload to Podigee

Also follow the file-size and image-dimension instructions in the upload field. The Podigee upload check and a podcast platform's requirements are separate checks.

Use a clear image. Examine the cover at a small display size.

The cover uploader in the Podigee web app accepts files up to 2 MB (2,048 KiB). Larger files are rejected before upload. This file-size check is separate from podcast platforms’ artwork requirements.
