Import data from another podcast hosted on Podigee

Historical instructions: The data import into an existing target described below belongs to an older interface. The current supported copying workflow creates a new podcast or episode clone. These instructions do not describe a currently available menu. No preview or automatic undo is guaranteed.

This article is about copying data between podcasts already hosted on Podigee. It is different from importing a podcast from another host or creating a new podcast clone.

Existing target settings can be replaced. Do not start an overwrite unless the available dialog makes the source, target, and changed fields clear.

Before you replace data

1. Make sure that you have access to the source and permission to change the target podcast.
2. Save the target's current text and settings separately. Keep copies of important media files.
3. Examine the source and target podcast names and URLs. Do not use only the title if two podcasts have the same name.
4. Read the field selection, warning, and confirmation shown in your account.
5. If the copied fields or recovery method are unclear, contact support before you continue. Not every field is necessarily replaced. An automatic undo is not necessarily available.

If your account does not show this function, do not use the external RSS importer as a substitute for a settings copy.

After a saved change

Open the target podcast again and examine its saved settings. Pay particular attention to publication, feed URLs, access protection, platform connections, and advertising. Examine public output if the target is published.
