Placing Ad Markers for the Podigee Ad Marketplace (PAM)
Ad markers define where ads can be placed within your podcast episodes. Setting them correctly helps you maximize monetization through the Podigee Ad Marketplace (PAM).
🚦 The Traffic Light System: Your Guidance
When placing markers, you'll see a traffic light system that recommends the optimal number of ad slots.
Note: Even if you place fewer markers than recommended, your episode will still be monetized – just with fewer ad opportunities.
Which markers are required?
- You are not required to set pre-roll or post-roll markers.
- Focus on mid-roll markers, as these are the most valuable ad positions.
❗️Backed-In Ads: What to keep in mind
If your episode already contains built-in ads (“ Backed-In Ads”):
- You must remove them before placing PAM markers.
- If you cannot remove them, you must exclude the episode from monetization.
To do this, check the box labeled “Do not play ads in this episode”.
You can uncheck this box later and place markers at any time.

Start tagging your newest episodes first – they often have the highest reach and revenue potential.
