Clone / Duplicate Episodes

You can use the episode clone function to create a separate episode in one or more available target podcasts. Examine the copy before you publish it. The function does not make an exact copy of all identifiers, connections, media, and settings.

Before you start

Make sure that you can use the source content and create episodes in each target podcast. The target list can be limited by your permissions and available account functions. Examine your plan conditions before you create or process more episodes.

Clone an episode

1. Open the source episode and its More Options tab.
2. Click Clone now if this option is available.
3. Examine the target list. Select only the podcasts where you want a new copy. Use the displayed podcast address to distinguish similar names.
4. Read the confirmation, then click Clone Now.
5. A message that cloning has started does not show that the copy is ready. Wait for processing, then open the copy in each selected podcast.

What does the new episode contain?

• The title, description, show notes, author, explicit-content setting, episode type, cover and chapter marks are copied. Text snippets use the target podcast's values.
• The copy gets a new GUID. It gets the next available episode number for its season and episode type in the target podcast.
• For an episodic target podcast, the season is set to 1. For a serial target podcast, the source season is kept.
• The new episode stays unpublished. The source publication date is not copied. Schedule or publish each copy separately.
• The existing MP3 audio file is copied. Other audio formats, audiograms, video files and video thumbnails are not copied. Examine the audio and add video separately.
• Statistics and existing platform posts are not transferred. The source episode's ad provider, ad-insertion bypass and intro/outro setting are not copied.

Targets, permissions and processing

You must have access to the source and permission to create episodes in the target podcast. External podcasts cannot be clone targets. The 2026 value-based plans include the clone function. For older plans, the subscribed function applies.

Copying the existing MP3 file does not start a new audio encoding. A later encoding uses the target account's audio conditions. Plans with unlimited audio minutes do not subtract limited encoding minutes. Publication of the new episode is still subject to its applicable publication limits.

Examine each copy

• Make sure that title, description, show notes, cover, and chapter marks are correct.
• Examine episode number, season, episode type, and publication date. Use the rules above for the changed values.
• Play the copied audio. Add video files separately.
• Examine the target podcast's access, advertising, and platform settings.
• Make sure that the copy is ready for your audience before you publish or schedule it.

The copy is a separate episode. It is not a way to keep the original episode's identity during a hosting move, and it does not replace the original platform post.

Cloning does not mean that you will get more listeners or that all processing work is completed. If a copy is missing or incomplete, contact support with the source and target episode links. Do not repeatedly clone it before you examine the first operation.
