Claiming my Podcast on Spotify

Claiming gives you access to your existing podcast in Spotify for Creators. It is not a hosting change or a new submission. The available analytics show aggregate data, not a list of the people who listen to your podcast.

Before you start

You must have a Spotify account and access to the email address in your RSS feed. You can create a Spotify account if necessary. Examine the existing Spotify show and your public feed before you continue.

Spotify uses the address in the feed's itunes:email field for verification. An address in a public feed is public. If it is missing or incorrect, or you cannot open its inbox, contact Podigee. An empty setting does not show that your account email is hidden. Do not publish a personal address only to try the process.

Claim the existing podcast

  1. Log in to Spotify for Creators.
  2. Select Find an existing show, then Somewhere else.
  3. Enter the public RSS feed or existing Spotify show URL.
  4. Follow the email verification steps. Enter the code directly in the Spotify form.

If the show is already claimed, contact its current administrator for access. Do not create a second show. Spotify's current instructions also give the procedure for accounts with other shows.

The following images show earlier steps. Use the linked Spotify instructions for the current controls.

If the code is missing

Examine the correct inbox and spam folder. Use Spotify's verification email help. Do not send passwords or verification codes to support.

After the claim

Make sure that you can open the correct podcast in the dashboard. Available views and data can be different. A successful login alone does not show access to the correct show or complete analytics.
