Automatic Metadata Import of Audio Files

We now extract metadata like title, chapter marks, episode image and more right after uploading an audio file – no longer only after publishing.

If your audio file contains metadata, the relevant fields in the episode editor will now be pre-filled automatically – saving time and reducing redundancy.

Supported Audio Formats

This feature works with all supported audio formats – not just MP3.

💡 However, keep in mind that not every format includes all types of metadata.

What gets imported?

Audio metadata → Episode field:

  • Title or SubtitleTitle
  • AuthorsAuthors
  • CommentDescription
  • URLLink
  • TagsKeywords
  • 📷 Embedded episode image
  • ⏱️ Chapter marks (timestamp, title, URL, image)

⚠️ Good to know

  • Import happens only during the initial upload of a file to an episode.
  • Existing values won’t be overwritten – e.g. if you’ve already set a title manually, it stays as is.
  • Users who prepare an episode without audio and upload the file very late might not benefit from automatic metadata import, as some fields may already be filled.
