What to do if Apple Podcasts rejects your podcast

If Apple rejects your podcast, first read the message and status in Apple Podcasts Connect. Technical feed validation and Apple's content inspection are separate steps.

Correct the reported problem

  • Make sure that Apple uses the correct public RSS feed. The artwork and episode files must open without a login.
  • Examine the title, author, description, explicit-content setting and content rights. Use correct information. Do not add search terms that are unrelated to the content.
  • Examine the cover against Apple's current show-cover requirements. For RSS feeds, Apple accepts square covers from 1400 × 1400 to 3000 × 3000 pixels and prefers the largest size.
  • For technical errors, use Apple's RSS feed requirements.

Use the actual error message to find the cause. Do not change the title or remove emojis only to try again.

Send the existing show for another inspection

For an RSS podcast, correct the information in Podigee and examine the updated feed. Open the existing show in Apple Podcasts Connect. Follow Apple's resubmission procedure and select Publish after the corrections.

Do not change the subdomain or feed URL to avoid a rejection. Do not create a second show. If the reason is unclear or the rejection continues, contact Apple with the message and existing show link. For an error in the Podigee feed, contact Podigee support.
