Which metadata is stored in audio files?
Podigee can write metadata into the output audio file. In MP3 files, this information is called ID3 tags. The fields in the file can be different for each format and processing method.
Which information can the file contain?
- Episode title and subtitle
- Episode description and keywords
- Year
- Episode permalink
- Podcast title
- Copyright information
- Author information
- Cover image and chapter marks, where supported
The year field does not always show the original publication year. Ad markers are part of specified advertising processes. They are not a general ID3 tag for all players.
What happens after a change?
After a change in Podigee, the feed, audio file, and podcast app can show the new information at different times. Wait until processing is completed. Then download a new copy of the published audio file. Examine its metadata. A copy that you downloaded before the change does not change automatically.
Not all players show all metadata fields. If the new file still contains old information, contact support. Give the episode, output format, and field names.
