Which podcast apps support protected podcasts?
Authorized listeners receive an individual RSS feed with an auth token for a protected podcast. This can be entered into the following podcast apps and then subscribed to like a regular podcast.
iOS:
- Apple Podcast (here the function is a bit hidden: Media Library>Edit>Add by URL).
- Castro (just copy the URL into the app-internal search field)
- Downcast ("+">Add podcast manually>Paste URL)*
- OverCast ("+">Add URL>Paste URL)*
- Pocket Casts (just copy URL into the app's internal search field)
*Also support entering username and password directly in the app.
Android:
- Beyond Pod (+ Add Feed > Import Feeds > Paste URL).
- Pocket Casts (IMPORTANT: See the following help article!)
- Podcast Addict ("+">on the "New Podcast" page click "+" again>RSS Feed>Insert URL)
