Uploading, Encoding and Replacing Audio Files
Uploading Audio Files
Upload a high-quality version of your episode whenever possible. We recommend CD quality:
- WAV format
- 16-bit
- 44.1 kHz sample rate
If you prefer to upload an MP3 or AAC file, make sure the bitrate is higher than 256 kbps. FLAC files are also supported.
Publishing Your Episode
When you click Publish Now or Schedule Publication, your audio file is prepared for release on the web player and across podcast platforms.
The publishing process includes audio encoding and typically takes around 50–60% of the audio file’s duration.
💡 Example: For a 10-minute episode, the process usually takes 5–6 minutes.
If you’ve enabled automatic transcript generation, the publishing time may be slightly longer. If a YouTube connection is enabled, the video generation for YouTube will take place after the audio encoding is complete. This process happens in the background — you won’t see it in the interface.
Updating An Existing Audio File
Use the “Update Audio File” button if you need to replace an already uploaded file.
This action is only necessary if:
- you're replacing the episode's audio file (see next section), or
- you want to change the advanced audio settings (e.g. to adjust the encoding quality)
If you're only updating metadata such as the title or description, there's no need to update the audio file — we’ll handle that for you automatically in the background.
You'll find more information about the metadata which is part of the audio file HERE.
❗️ Be aware that updating your audio file is for free if you first encoded it within the last 7 days. But this does not count when an audio file is being replaced.
Replacing An Audio File
If you need to replace an already uploaded audio file, you'll need to delete the current one first, and then upload a new one.
⚠️ Important notice: when deleting and uploading a new audio file, your monthly quota will be reduced by the duration of the new audio file in minutes.
