Video podcasts with Podigee: Get started and select a platform

You can publish a video podcast with Podigee through separate connections to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube. First, select the type of video and the platform. Then follow the applicable instructions below.

Select your video type

  • You recorded a video: Use the video file for the episode and the applicable video connection. This is the correct route for moving images from your recording.
  • You have audio and a cover image: The YouTube audio export creates a video from the audio and images. It does not add recorded camera footage. Follow YouTube Export.

Select your platform

Platform Route and instructions
Apple Podcasts Use the Apple video connection in Podigee and the correct show in Apple Podcasts Connect. This procedure does not submit a separate video RSS feed. Follow Publish video to Apple Podcasts.
Spotify Use the Spotify video connection. An existing show can require a change from RSS delivery to API delivery. Examine the existing show before you connect it. Follow Publish video to Spotify.
YouTube Connect the correct Google account and YouTube channel. For a recorded video, follow Publish a video podcast to YouTube. For audio with images, use the separate YouTube Export instructions above.

Before you start

  1. Video podcasts are available to all accounts on the current plan lineup. Legacy plans do not include video podcasts. Your plan's video allowances and upload limits still apply. Video access does not mean an unlimited allowance. Platform requirements also apply. If a video option is missing on a current plan, contact support.
  2. Make sure that you have permission to manage the destination show or channel. Examine its public link to prevent a duplicate listing.
  3. Keep a copy of your original audio, video, and episode text. Do not delete an audio file to add video. If the upload control would replace existing media, ask support before you continue.
  4. Examine the file requirements in the platform instructions and the Podigee upload dialog. A platform recommendation does not show that every Podigee account accepts that file.

Upload, process, and publish

Follow the instructions for each platform separately. Select the episodes and publication settings carefully. An uploaded file, a completed processing task, and an active connection do not show that the episode is available to your audience.

After publication, open the episode on each destination platform. Examine the correct show or channel, video playback, audio, title, description, and visibility. On YouTube, people who have the link can open an unlisted video. It is not access protection.

Advertising and analytics

Dynamic ads in your audio feed are not automatically included in a video export. Ad delivery and analytics can be different for each platform and delivery route. Use the applicable guide to examine these differences before you change an existing connection.

Keep the source of each metric when you compare results. A platform video view and a Podigee audio download are different measurements. Do not add them together as a count of unique people.

Where to read audio and video metrics

Select the same show, episode, and date range in each service. Keep the delivery route with each result.

Delivery route Metric source and destination What to read in Podigee
Video stored at Spotify Open Spotify for Creators for Spotify playback and audience metrics. Spotify playback is not a Podigee audio download. If a Spotify analytics panel is available for your connection, read those separately labeled metrics there. Do not assume that every connection has this panel.
Apple Podcasts video through HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) Open Analytics in Apple Podcasts Connect. Apple groups audio and video consumption in the show's overall metrics. See Apple's video analytics explanation. The standard audio-download report is not a separate count of Apple video views. Use Apple's report for consumption on Apple Podcasts; do not interpret missing video figures in Podigee as zero views.
YouTube video, including video generated from audio Open YouTube Studio, then Analytics, for views and watch time. See YouTube's analytics guide. YouTube views and watch time are not Podigee audio downloads. Use YouTube Studio for these figures rather than expecting them in the standard audio-download report.
Audio delivered from Podigee Open the podcast's Analytics in Podigee for downloads and the available breakdowns. These are the audio-delivery metrics available for your account. They do not become a combined count of video viewers across platforms.

An active video connection confirms a delivery setup, not the availability of a matching analytics panel. Keep platform views, downloads, listening or watch time, and audience counts separate. Do not add them as unique people.

If the result is different from what you expected

Examine the processing and publication status before you start another export. Record the episode link, destination platform, error message, and time of the problem for support. Do not delete an episode or disconnect a service as a first troubleshooting step. These actions can change or remove existing publications. Use the platform guide before you change delivery or return to RSS.
